Quick Preview: Ohio State vs Ohio University

Ohio State vs Ohio University

September 6th

Overview:

Ohio State has the luxury of two home warm-up games before the epic showdown with USC on the 13th.  OU is coming off a 6-6 season and is losing its starting quarterback, running back and six defensemen.  These factors will not help the Bobcats on their trip through the MAC and certainly not against the Buckeyes.

Preview:

OU does not match up well against the Bucks in experience and talent.  Like the YSU game the week before, Jim Tressel will have the opportunity to play a bunch of young players and get them valuable game time experience.  Look for a straight forward game without a lot of bells and whistles as they prep for USC the following week.

Outcome:

OU gave OSU a game for the first half the last time they met in Columbus.  Expect OU head coach Frank Solich to throw everything he has at the Buckeyes to get an early edge.  Solich might catch the Buckeyes looking ahead to USC and could get a few early scores.  Eventually the Buckeyes will wear down the Bobcats and pull away late in the third for a comfortable 17 point victory.
