Returns on the DLine
With Ohio
State now cruising on
offense with the addition of Terrelle Pryor at quarterback and the return of
Chris Wells at the tailback position, much of the Buckeye Nation disapproval
has turned to the defense. This week could see an improvement at the defensive
tackle position with starting tackle Todd Denlinger returning from injury. | 10/10/2008 10:31:02 AM Views: 57 Comments: 0

Sanzenbacher and Small Unlikely to Play
The Wisconsin game is
always a physical one whenever the Buckeyes call. It looks like a few guys are banged up which
should open up some holes for the youngsters on the team. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, it
appears that wide receivers Dane Sanzenbacher (concussion) and Ray Small (knee)
sustained injuries that will likely keep them both out of the game this
Saturday. | 10/9/2008 4:54:25 PM Views: 68 Comments: 0

| #11/12 Ohio State v. Purdue |
#11/12 Ohio State
v. Purdue
Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio Kickoff: 3:30pm TV: ABC
12 years ago Purdue head football coach Joe Tiller brought
pizzazz and excitement to an otherwise slow, plodding,
three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust Big Ten.
Since Tiller installed the spread offense, Purdue has been at or near
the top of the conference offensive statistics.
A 2-3 record was certainly not the way the Boilermakers wanted to start
out the season but the urgency for wins makes them a dangerous opponent. Coach Tiller will be retiring at the end of
the season which makes the urgency even greater. The Buckeyes are coming off a come from
behind win at Wisconsin. The Buckeyes overall seem to still be
searching for an identity or a spark or both.
With the Terrelle Pryor / Beanie Wells combo starting to gel, that explosion
might just be a game away. | 10/8/2008 12:10:24 PM Views: 117 Comments: 0

Ohio State Buckeyes quiet Camp Randall
20-17
In what was a defensive battle between two Big 10 heavy
weights on Saturday night in Camp
Randall, Ohio State
came out on top with great running by junior tailback Chris ‘Beanie’ Wells and
a great final drive by freshman phenomenon Terrelle Pryor.
The Buckeyes didn’t seem to get
tight going into the fourth quarter of a very competitive game as senior
cornerback Malcolm Jenkins out-jumped the fans during the Wisconsin Jump Around
and then intercepted Allan Evridge in the final minute to kill what could have
been a Badger winning drive. | 10/5/2008 8:56:09 AM Views: 154 Comments: 2

#12/14 Ohio State
v. #15 Wisconsin
Camp
Randall, Madison
Wisconsin Kickoff: 8pm TV: ABC
Was Wisconsin looking ahead
to Ohio State?
It sure looked like it during the second half meltdown at Michigan last week. The Badgers had the game in hand at the half
with a 19-0 lead over the Wolverines but seemed to lose focus as the game wore
on. How will Wisconsin react to an embarrassing defeat in
a must win situation at home? Ohio State
is also in a must win situation for respect after four top ten teams lost
(three to unranked squads) and the pollsters not voting the Buckeyes up any
spots. Had Wisconsin
entered this game undefeated, an Ohio
State victory surely
would have increased the remote possibility of a return to the national
championship. Unfortunately the game has
lost some of its luster but it still means everything when it comes down to the
