| (10) Ohio State v. Michigan |
Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio Kickoff: 12noon TV: ABC
At 3-8, Michigan
comes into Ohio Stadium with their worst record ever. First year Head
Coach Rich Rodriguez has
struggled all season trying to transition Michigan’s traditional
offense into his own
high powered offensive style. Unfortunately
for Rodriguez, he simply doesn’t have the right weapons to run the new
offense. Don’t feel bad for the
Wolverines, Rodriguez has a slew of young talent coming into Michigan
in 2009 but for now, the Maize and
Blue just aren’t there yet. On the other
hand, Ohio State is playing for another Big Ten
title and a possible Rose Bowl invitation.
The Buckeyes haven’t exactly lived up to expectations this season but
have played themselves into a position to four-peat as Big Ten Champs.
There is a lot at stake in this game. The Buckeyes are playing for
more hardware
and Michigan
is playing for pride. That alone makes the
Wolverines a very dangerous team. Don’t
expect Ohio State to come out with a bunch of new
plays that we haven’t seen all season and put up 50+ points on the
Wolverines. Instead, expect a lot of the
same ball controlling “Tresselball” schemes.

| Michigan Week is a Season onto itself for Ohio State |
Senior week might present Coach Tressel with the opportunity
to get the seniors into the game early including Todd Boeckman and Maurice
Wells to name a few. “Well, we haven't talked about that, although we're not
very deep into the week.” He stated at his Monday press conference. “One time I
remember I had so many seniors on offense in particular I started 11 seniors on
the first play and then on play two, it was back to the rest of the group. I'm not
sure that that's in the cards here, but I haven't really talked about that.” | 11/18/2008 9:37:55 PM Views: 62 Comments: 0

| Ron Zook Ends the Illinois vs Ohio State Game with 12 Minutes Remaining |
In what was a tight game between two Big Ten foes and a
difficult matchup for the Buckeyes a year ago, Ron Zook switched quarterbacks
with 11:49 remaining and put the nail in the coffin for Fighting Illini. Maybe
the hard hit by Ross Homan the previous drive on Juice Williams or the change
in direction to playing against the wind influenced his decision, yet his team
was down by 17 with most of the fourth quarter remaining when he made the switch
to backup Eddie McGee who was not able to put the Illini into a scoring position
on two consecutive drives ending any hope for his team. | 11/15/2008 4:05:16 PM Views: 79 Comments: 0
