At the end of March, Michael Brewster was sounding more like a University of Florida lean than an Ohio State lean but by the time the Spring Game in Columbus was over this past weekend, the Orlando Florida 4 Star offensive lineman was sold on the Buckeyes. “Every time I visit Florida it leaves the close to home impression and I like that. Also the swamp is an awesome stadium like the Shoe is. You can't go wrong with either school is how I look at it.” Brewster told us about his interest in Florida last time we spoke with him. Yet at dinner after the game on Saturday, Brewster told everyone that he was coming to Ohio State for the next 4 to 5 years of his career instead of staying closer to home and playing for the Gators.
After his March 10th visit, Brewster felt good about the coaching staff in addition to the tradition and facilities at Ohio State. “It just really fortified my feelings for the Buckeyes and their staff. I got to learn a lot more about coach Tressel, and also got to see his funny side. I also got a lot of time with coach Bollman and really enjoyed that, he is an awesome guy I feel really comfortable with him. Overall the visit was amazing!”
Of course the Block O was formed many months prior to his March visit to Columbus, and the ideal of playing with Adams, JB Shugarts, Josh Jenkins, and Kyle Long still remained a very attractive situation for Brewster. “I would like to have a great line consisting of Me, Mike Adams, Shugarts, Jenkins, and Kyle Long if he doesn't play baseball. That O line would win championships!” he explained to us. Four of the five were in Columbus on Saturday, Shugarts is set to announce for Ohio State on Tuesday (by all indications) while Jenkins sounded like a part of the 2008 class already when discussing the Buckeyes on the sideline during the annual Scarlet vs. Gray game. Kyle Long is the ‘long-shot’ now with Florida State offering him a great opportunity to play top level Baseball and Football in college.
