By Bill Smith
The Cards signed Johnson to a
undrafted free agent contract today according to Josh Buchanan, of the
NFLDraftBible.com. The financial terms
were unannounced but Dionte knows well what the operational terms areāseek and
destroy tacklers as both a fullback and on special teams.
Dionte has
good bloodlines. His Dad is Pepper
Johnson of Ohio State and NFL fame.
Dionte
started for OSU at fullback and has been a special team standout for several
seasons. That experience will serve him
well in summer camp. The Cardinals have
one of the better fullbacks in the game, the former Cleveland Brown Terrelle Smith. Fullbacks normally are not paid much. With Smith earning nearly a million a year,
if Dionte can prove his worth, he has a shot to stick.
